We arrived in Portland on April 17. Mum took us to Manzanita Beach (her favourite spot), and we explored Oswalt West, a cool little surf/hang out spot in one of the state parks. At Oswalt, there were a bunch of little trails meandering through old growth trees down to the beach.

On the weekend we went to the Portland Saturday Market with Mum and Tim. It runs from 11am-5pm on both Saturday and Sunday, and spans over three streets, including under (one of) the bridge(s). Everyone seemed to be there - even a baby goat.

Back at Mum and Tim's place, we went in the hot tub at night (once in the morning - not a good idea), fed and watched the birds, heard coyotes, saw cows grazing in the field across from their house, planted trees and worked on getting our bikes up-and-running! Tim bought a bike on the weekend, and Derik worked on getting Mum's bike ride-able - now they both have working bikes. Mum has her orange basket on front - all she needs is a kitten to go in it.
